Not a Ton of Fall Colors. But We’ve Got Turkey! 🍗
WORDS: 932 = READING TIME: 3.5 MINUTES
🦃 IT’S NOVEMBER! Yes, that means some cooler temps and lots of eating. If you’re looking for a few suggestions on where to spend your hard-earned dining dollars, you have come to the right place.
✈️ Maybe you’re like a lot of us and have some out-of-towners coming in for a bit of family time and sunshine. Let’s just say you’re not in the mood to cook a holiday dinner for a crowd. We can help! Here’s our list of local places that will take all the stress out of your Thanksgiving, leaving you more time to socialize and watch football.
⭐ OUR GUIDE TO THANKSGIVING IN SARASOTA
🆕 WHAT’S NEW
Only one addition to the database in October, that was Siam Gulf (1100 N. Tuttle Ave. (941) 312-4605). Their tag is “The New Japanese and Thai Vibes in Sarasota, FL.” I guess we know what to expect when we walk in the door!
COMING SOON – We’re going to have some great additions to our dineSarasota.com collection of restaurants in November.
As you’re reading this, the new Wolfie’s Rascal House (1454 Boulevard of the Arts (941) 554-4311) has opened in the Rosemary District. Yes, there will be lines. Yes, they’ll need some time to work out the kinks (translation: patience). Yes, you can expect Sol’s Famous Cheesecake! 🍰
Also, Fin & Tonic (6747 S Tamiami Trl. (941) 676-9116) just opened in the former Red Lobster space on South Tamiami Trail. AND the old MeLange space on Main Street has re-opened as Marcel (1568 Main St. (941) 527-0162). Good luck to Chef Jeremy Duclut! 📝 The menu looks fantastic. Our “finer dining” options keep growing! We’ll be adding all three of those plus others to the database this month.
📕 A little bit of housekeeping.
You may get one fewer newsletter this month. We are hard at work putting the finishing touches on our 2024 Little Sarasota Dining Book. It’s our 15th annual edition! You’ll be able to pick one up at Bookstore 1 Sarasota, either of our two local Barnes & Noble locations, or of course, online. It should hit the streets in mid-December! 🤞🏻
📈 THE LIST
Here’s what you really came here for. We can tell things are starting to pick up out there in Sarasota Restaurant-land. We had over 30K page views last month. AND that was October! 😲 Looks like it’s going to be a busy 2024 season!
#5 Osteria Southside (1812 S. Osprey Ave. (941) 361-3200)
Sandwiches are back for lunch! That’s really all you need to know. The Genoa Salami Sandwich will transport you back in time to the days of Mozzarella Fella. I like that!
#4 Shebeen Irish Pub & Kitchen (6641 Midnight Pass Rd. (941) 952-3070)
There’s new ownership at this South Siesta Key Irish eating and drinking establishment. Go for the live music. Have a pint of Guinness as an accompaniment! 🍺 🎶
#3 Florence and the Spice Boys (4990 S Tamiami Trl.)
There are a few menu changes at this super popular Lebanese, Middle Eastern, and Israeli dining hot spot. Don’t worry, they still have your favs. Just a couple of tweaks. (Chicken Shawarma Tacos out. Chicken Shawarma Pita in!)
#2 Capo Pazzo (2053 Reynolds St. (941) 487-8677)
The most popular new pizza place in town. Haven’t seen (or heard) this kind of pizza buzz since Atmosphere opened a few years back. In addition to those great pies, they also have traditional Italian favorites. 📝 A FIRST LOOK is coming your way soon. 🍕
#1 Beso (30 S. Lemon Ave. (941) 279-2999)
Beso is now open seven days a week! That’s more opportunity for you to indulge in some delicious tapas dishes with friends and family. This place buzzes with a really energetic feel. A fun night out!
➡️ THE BEST OF THE REST
Bar Hana rolls in at number six, followed by their sister restaurant, the Palm Avenue Deli, Gulf Gate’s Kolukan, The Chateau Sarasota, and newcomer Fuego Comida & Tequilla. That is quite an eclectic group of restaurants. You have very varied tastes, I must say! 😁
🗒️ HERE’S THE COMPLETE LIST OF THE TOP 25 FOR NOVEMBER 2023!
We’re getting close to the end. But we’ve still got a few random things to cover.
🍔 Some odds and ends – Congrats to Ray and Nikki on the opening of their Mouthole Smashburger (4571 Clark Rd.) restaurant. Yes, we know the food truck is great. But a regular location is 10X. 📝 They’re only open on Tuesdays for the month of November. Full time schedule starts December 1st! 👍🏻
Sorry to see you go. Towles Courts Baby Brie’s Cafe & Coffee House is sadly closing up shop. I’m sure that the neighborhood will miss them. You’ve got until Sunday, November 5th, to get in and say goodbye. 😔
This is the time of year when All Faiths Food Bank could use your help. Whether it’s a donation of time or money, your assistance will be greatly appreciated. They serve our most underserved population all year long. Let’s show them how much we support their mission.
OK, let’s put this thing to bed. Yes, we’ve got some news for you to finish up this November LIST up (couldn’t forget that!) There’s been A LOT of stuff going on!
😃 Thanks for reading. Please come again!
