I can’t remember the last time I was at a progressive dinner. That’s because I don’t recall ever being at one. I should really try and put one of those together. I do remember my parents going to several in our Chicago neighborhood when I was growing up. They seemed to have a ball. Wandering from house to house, sampling the next course on a mystery dinner adventure.
If you’re like me and have so far missed out on the progressive dinner experience, now is your chance to right that wrong.
On Wednesday, August 19th at 6:00pm, the restaurants of Lakewood Ranch Main Street will put their spin on a culinary classic. You can wander Main Street and enjoy some great global cuisine. From Russian to Japanese and French to Scottish, you will be treated to an awesome variety of fantastic ethnic fare.
The night will consist of what the organizers are calling a “six mini course meal”. Here’s the schedule for the evening:
6:00pm – Astoria Fine Russian Cuisine
6:30pm – Saijo Sushi & Japanese Restaurant
7:00pm – MacAllisters Grill and Tavern
7:30pm – Ed’s Tavern, Inc.
8:00pm – Polo Grill and Bar
8:30pm – Paris Bistrot
The cost for the event is $60 per person (beverages & cash bar not included) and tickets must be purchased in advance. If you would like more information on what is sure to be a unique dining experience, you can contact Candice at the Polo Grill & Bar, 941-782-0899 x239.
This should be a fun evening. Besides, where else can you get a six country culinary tour and never leave Main Street?
