Looking for something to do this weekend that’s a little different and sure to be a lot of fun? Well, I’ve got a fantastic idea for you. Why not check out the Scottish St. Andrews Festival on Lakewood Main Street.
This Saturday, November 21st, beginning at 4pm, MacAllisters Grill & Tavern will be sponsoring what is sure to be an enjoyable afternoon for all. Entertainment will include Nashville music star David Nail and Sarasota’s own Chameleon.
There will be golf demos by Edwin Watts (think St. Andrews) and a swing improvement evaluation with Golf Tec.
What Scottish festival would be complete without one of Scotland’s traditional dishes? I’m talking about Haggis. Is a taste of this time honored Scottish dish on your list of things to do? If it is, you can cross it off on Saturday. I’m not sure if it’s being served with neeps and tatties, but you can have a dram of Glenlivet at their sampling booth as an accompaniment.
There will also be a wine and beer tent, as well as Braveheart face painting for the kids (or adults).
Sounds like it should be a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Proceeds from the days event will benefit the Payton Wright Foundation, so you’ll be helping a good cause too.
