It’s Tuesday. Savor Sarasota, day two. I hope you’re saving room, because we’re just getting rolling. That said, let’s get on with our pick for today.
MADE. As, you can see from the logo, Modern, American, Delicious and Eats. All words that fit this place so well. Chef Mark Woodruff has put together a Savor Sarasota menu that does not disappoint. Some MADE classics are well represented here.

The “Mack”-n-Cheese

Smoked Tomato Bisque
Herb, bacon and horseradish goat cheese, grilled bread. Optional wine pairing: Murphy Good Sauvignon Blanc.

WOW. That’s a menu! OK, you’re probably hanging on the edge of your chair wondering what I might recommend from this instant-salivation bill of fare. Actually, I’m wondering that too. I can tell you one thing for sure, I’m a big supporter of the bacon industry (I hope you are too). It is nearly impossible to include it in too many dishes.I hope Mark has buried a slice or two in his desserts.
Second, I’m excited about the beer parings. We see wine pairings as a pretty stock thing. It’s expected. Beer pairings, a little more unexpected. I like that. Nice job MADE! I’m big fan of JDub’s and Darwin’s. So, it’s nice to see Uptop and Circa 1926 represented. I’m also a lover of Founders products. Good work MADE beer people!
If I’m there for lunch I have to go with the Duck Club and a pint of Founders All Day IPA. If I’m making the dinner run, it looks like Fried Tomatoes (and Circa 1926) and “Four” Meatloaf chased by a Founders Porter. Oh, boy. I think I may have just over indulged.
