We’ve been finding some delicious burgers in some pretty odd places. Burger #43 fits that description perfectly! π
π§π»βπΎ Up in Bradenton, there’s a “Farmers Market” that’s tucked inside a pretty ordinary-looking strip shopping center that defies the usual definition.
YES, they have this…

But it also has this…

And…
OH, you can also get an Agua Fresca!
Not your average “Farmers Market”. But that’s what actually makes this stop so unexpected. On the outside (and inside), it seems like an unlikely place to find an expertly smashed burger. π
π There’s probably a slice of you who are familiar with the Barnyard Betty. It’s a chicken sandwich that has a pretty dedicated and loyal local following. Here’s what all that the Betty buzz looks like.
You can get this delicious slice of sandwich goodness in Original or Buffalo style. Both are fantastic! So, itβs impossible to make a bad choice. π₯ͺ
π If we ever start a chicken sandwich series. The Barnyard Betty will be right near the top!
Cooking up mouthwatering chicken sandwiches is one thing. But a burger is a whole different matter.
You can’t just drop a seasoned burger patty in a deep fryer and call it a day. There is more technique than that involved.
I’m certainly not suggesting that creating the perfect chicken sandwich is an easy feat. It’s not. But REAL burger cooking isn’t child’s play, either.
We’ve been over the most popular burger cooking methods before. And they all have their fan base. When executed properly, each of them can produce a great-tasting (and looking) burger.
The cooking style at The Barnyard is Smashed! I’m already thinking that this burger is right in my wheelhouse.

π OUR TASTING NOTES
π This burger is served as listed on the menu: Two quarter-pound burger patties, American & Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Toasted brioche bun ($12.49)
β’ Before we get to the burger, let’s talk about the people. After all, people are a big part of any dining experience. The staff here is great. Super nice folks!
β’ The edges on this burger were crunchy and loaded with flavor. Smashed to perfection.
β’ Love shredded lettuce. AND it’s on the bottom! You know that’s my preference.
β’ This burger had a great burgery flavor. It tastes like a burger! It didn’t even need mustard or ketchup. Perfect as served.
β’ THE FRIES! – Yes, we got fries. I mean, really. These were a seasoned variety and were nice and crispy. It says Double Crunch Fries on the menu. π
β’ If you like casual and you like something a little less run-of-the-mill, this place hits those notes. There were lots of people carrying out from here.

BURGER TAKEAWAYS: At $12.50, it’s a pretty good value. β’ Lots of parking β’ Bring your kids. There’s fun stuff for them to explore in the Farmer’s Market. β’ The Barnyard is family-owned and operated (we know how much you all support that!)
π SNEAK PEEK: We’re trying to keep up the pace as we head into our last few burger stops (honestly, it’s grueling π). #44 is out on AMI and is an institution for folks who live, work, and play up there. Itβs old-school burger time!
