Looking for something to do this Derby Day? Tired of hosting your friends all afternoon just for the two-minute race? Then, the Polo Grill and Bar in Lakewood Ranch may have the perfect solution for you. It’s their Ultimate Derby Day Bash! You can enjoy the actual race on their huge 96″ projection screen TV. That should probably give you a better view than actually being at Churchill Downs! They will be featuring Maker’s Mark Mint Julep drink specials and complementary Kentucky-inspired snacks. If you would like to enjoy a cigar with the race and your Mint Julep, you can do it! The Polo Grill has a cigar-friendly breezeway. There will be a Derby Day race raffle and loads of prizes.
If you’re looking for something to do after the most exciting two minutes in sports, they will have some live entertainment for you to enjoy. Ricky and Franky will be making their debut at 8:30pm. All the action starts at 5:00pm, with the race starting at 7:00pm. Sounds like a fantastic way to enjoy the first Saturday in May.

I was looking for a Kentucky Derby party near me (Sarasota) and this sounds great! Do I need a reservation? And is this a total dress up participation?
