It’s a familiar name around town. Steve Seidensticker and his family opened this Southside Village favorite back in 2008. 📝 They now have a second location in the Lakewood Ranch area.
I’m guessing that most of you have been to one of the Libby’s at some point during the past 15 years. If not, you probably should add a trip to your to-do list!
🪟 10,000 FOOT VIEW
We’re calling today’s stop “Polished Casual.” Yes, things here are casual. But polished sums the feel up nicely.
• It’s a decidedly older crowd. You won’t find kids playing tag while you’re waiting for a table (I think you get the picture). 🚸
• They were ahead of the curve on the open kitchen concept. Not that it has a big impact on the way your food tastes, but it adds to the previously mentioned “Polished Casual” theme.
• Libby’s has a “neighborhood” flavor to it (Hey, it’s in the name!). There’s definitely a big-city feel going on here.
• The bar here has always been stocked with some of the best staff in town. Miriam was our tour guide on this afternoon. She knew exactly the route to take for Happy Hour happiness.

As usual, let’s break this all down into bite-size pieces.
😋 TASTY NUGGETS
🥑 Some delicious choices. These seven appetizer options are available in the bar area only. There’s lots of seating, so you should be able to squeeze in most of the year.
These are pretty large portion sizes. 2-3 of these should fill up two Happy Hour revelers.
🍸 MORE THAN JUST FOOD
Yes, there are beverage options. What would a proper Happy Hour be without beer/wine/cocktails??

These Avocado Eggrolls were a great surprise (Miriam recommended these!). Super tasty! 😋
Our Happy Hour neighbors had an order of Chicken Sambal Bites. They were nice enough to let us memorialize their dish! 😁

• I love the Southside Village neighborhood. It’s always a treat to stop here for just about anything.
• It’s a nice long bar. That means lots of opportunities to meet folks and make some new friends.
• Libby’s will get busier as we head into season. So go now and avoid the coming crowd.

• Parking across the street in the Morton’s Gourmet Market lot helps make things a touch easier.
• This is a brand-new Happy Hour menu. It includes some old favs + some of the latest creations from the Libby’s kitchen. It’s always fun to explore new stuff!
• It’s Libby’s, so you know it will be consistently good. If you’re looking for a sure thing Happy Hour, this is it!
📝 SOME RANDOM STUFF
Libby’s Happy Hour now includes SUNDAYS! Translation = It’s Happy Hour at Libby’s six days a week! 🎉
They have a Wine Wednesday promo. It’s ½ off select bottles of wine.
✅ BOTTOM LINE
This is a solid Happy Hour experience. It might not be the biggest bang for the Happy Hour buck, but it is a decent value. (Our bill was just under $50 for 2 apps and 4 beers. That included tax and a generous tip). You could absolutely do some discounted Happy Hour drinks and then a full Libby’s dinner. It’s a great adult meet-up spot!
