So, first off, there’s A LOT of great places to grab a burger in Sarasota. Let’s not even consider the more corporate options (Shake Shack, Burger Fi, and Five Guys are great choices for that kind of thing. We don’t have an In-N-Out or Whataburger even close or they would obviously be in the mix).
I’m talking about the more gourmet-ish type burger. And, this comes in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. The option range is pretty large, it runs from Sarasota’s iconic Hob Nob to Chef Steve Phelps, Indigenous ( a great burger!). And, it hits just about everything in between.
The mouthwatering meat sandwich above is the burger served at Island House Tap & Grill on Siesta Key. These burgers are cooked sous vide, then finished on the grill. That makes them juicy, delicious and perfectly cooked every single time! Pair that burger up with an order of duck fat fries and a cold craft beer (lots of locals to choose from) and you’ve really got something going.
If you happen to be meat-free, Island House has created a Sushi Burger just for you! They also serve up some tasty tacos and super creative daily specials. It’s a small and personal space. Great to hang out and meet some new friends. Island House Tap & Grill is tucked away in the north corner of Davidson’s plaza in Siesta Village. It’s a hidden gem on the key for sure.
