Lately, there seems to have been an unfortunate rash of Sarasota restaurant closings. Last Friday’s edition of the Sarasota Herald Tribune ran an article documenting the plight of some of our local eateries.  It appears that the story generated some confusion about the status of our Sarasota Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. The article stated that the “Ruth’s Chris chain sold its Sarasota restaurant along with four others in a $17.6 million lease-back deal”. What wasn’t so clear was the status of the restaurant. Was it open or closed like the others listed in the piece?

I am happy to report that after speaking with the management of the restaurant, that Ruth’s Chris on South Tamiami Trail is open for business and intends to remain that way for a long time to come. The General Manager assured me that they were here to stay and would be continuing to serve area diners in the manner in which they always have.
