Siesta Key gets into the Savor Sarasota mix.
I think we can all agree that Sarasota is home to a pretty diverse set of culinary styles. I know it’s not NY, Chicago, Portland or Seattle. But, it still has pretty good food options. **The term “For a city of it’s size” shall not be used in this post.
Siesta Key itself has a pretty good selection. Peruvian, French, Italian, pizza, seafood, British… In addition to those semi-official styles we also have some pretty great casual style places. And, the Siesta Key Oyster Bar (SKOB) hits on all levels when it comes to casual. It’s about the most unpretentious kind of place you can wander into. The locals sit elbow to elbow with visitors. And, unless it’s the height of season, things are pretty laid back.
So, when it comes to a Savor Sarasota menu SKOB did what you would kind of expect SKOB to do. Make it easy! No wine or beer pairing here. Although they have one of the better draft beer selections in town. This menu is “SKOB Simple”.
Let’s check things out.

Told ya so, simple. You are not going to overtax your brain trying to decide what to have. And, sometimes that’s not a bad thing. Especially, if you may have just come from the beach or spent the day on the water and all you REALLY want is someone to feed you (AND, at a great price).
This is traditionally the point in these Savor Sarasota posts where I suggest what I might like to enjoy. Hhmmm… OK, done. Give me the Caesar Salad and Tuna Ceviche Tacos for lunch. And, maybe I’ll try the Surf & Turf for dinner. That was EASY! Just the way I like it. The selection of my beer on the other hand may be more of a complicated thing…
