CHRISTMAS IN SARASOTA… The majority of us will be spending the holiday gathered around our dining room tables with friends and family. That’s a tradition. But, some of you want to get out of the house and let someone else do all of the cooking and cleanup. I get that. So, in that spirit here are some suggestions for a non-housebound Christmas celebration. Roessler’s Restaurant will be serving between 12:30PM & 8:30PM. The Columbia Restaurant will be featuring a special Christmas menu. The Polo Grill & Bar will host a Christmas buffett. For something a little different, try Taste of Asia for your holiday meal.
STOCKING STUFFERS…Â Still looking for the perfect gift to fill out the wish list of your favorite Sarasota foodie? Any food loving local worth his or her salt would love a Sarasota-Manatee Originals gift certificate. It’s easy and delicious.
ROLL ‘EM…Â If you’ve been paying attention you know that the food truck issue here in Sarasota is, well, an issue. The Sarasota Food Truck Alliance is trying to educate people and enlist their support for a loosening of the mobile vending rules in the area. Here’s a way you can help. A nifty online petition. Click and sign. Just that easy!
RIDE IN STYLE… Downtown parking can be a MAJOR pain. Duval’s New World Café is looking to ease that pain ever so slightly. They’re offering shuttle rides to and from the restaurant. Talk about making things painless! There are some geographic restrictions. But, here’s all the info on how you can get a lift to the restaurant.
DID YOU MISS THIS?… OK, maybe you were out of town when this hit. So, it bears repeating. The Table Creekside has rolled out some new menu items. And, there is some damn good stuff here. On my DO NOT MISS list. Roasted orzo paella, lemon roasted Chilean sea bass and the domestic lamb rack. Here’s the full menu just in case those items don’t completely tantalize you.
THE UTC!… Is it just me, or does everyone think UTC sounds like something other than a giant mall? OK, food wise. Just a quick recommendation. Seasons 52 has a couple of knockout dishes. The salumi piccante flatbread and the cedar-plank roasted salmon are homer runs. More later…
YOU’VE MISSED TASTING NOTES … It’s OK, I know. Hopefully, we’ll be back on a more regular schedule (like before). Let’s shoot for an every other week meeting, shall we. Until next time…
