Time for your monthly roundup of restaurants and news!
I’m not going to tell you what you’re already more than aware of… 🔥
This seems like the perfect opportunity for some indoor activity. You could go check out something at one of our perfectly temperature-controlled Sarasota area movie theaters. (Barbie is waiting for you! And so is Oppenheimer!). 🎥
📝 If you want to catch some upgraded movie cuisine with your flick, the CMX CinéBistro Siesta Key is a great option. We wrote a piece on them when they first opened all the way back in 2016. If you’d like to refresh your memory, YOU CAN READ THAT HERE! 🍿
It’s also the perfect time to dine “in” at any of our fantastic Sarasota restaurants. There are many of times of the year when it’s tough to get a reservation. This is not one of those times. Why not take advantage of that and try something new or re-visit an old fav? I know they’ll be happy to see you!
TIP – It’s also the time of year when some of our local eateries close up for a little well-deserved R & R or maybe just to spruce up the place. Make sure and call ahead if you’re planning to “drop by.” Just in case…
DELI NEWS – The Palm Avenue Deli is now open FOR LUNCH! Sarasota has recently become a deli-obsessed town. I’m all in favor of it. I LOVE a good Reuben or pastrami sandwich. Bring it on!! 🥪
We didn’t add (or delete) any restaurants to the database this past month. So, the tally still stands at 380! It’s still quite a few choices. I can almost guarantee there will be some new entries in August.

✅ Just to review. These are the restaurants that you have been searching for and reading about on our website in the past month. It is VERY non-scientific. It’s also not a poll or a contest. We’re just letting you know what seems to be popular. That’s really all there is to it.
That said, here’s the Top 5 for this month! 🎇
#5 Shebeen Irish Pub & Kitchen (6641 Midnight Pass Rd., (941) 952-3070)
Shebeen’s down one slot from number four last month. Looks like you’re still interested in downing a pint accompanied by some authentic Irish music. 🎶 They have been open the longest of any of the Top 5.
#4 Palm Avenue Deli (1297 N. Palm Ave. (941) 263-3742)
Yes, they’re open for lunch! Here’s a link to the FULL MENU. We’ll be bringing you a complete FIRST LOOK piece on this popular place sometime in the very near future. Stay tuned for that!
#3 Bar Hana (1289 N. Palm Ave. (941) 536-9717
As long as we’re doing menus… HERE’S BAR HANA’S. I love that they have so many creative cocktails to choose from. The Hip Hop Anonymous (Thank you, Big Daddy!) sounds SO interesting. It has Orgeat syrup in it! Don’t see that used around town a whole lot. 🍹
#2 Beso (30 S. Lemon Ave. (941) 279-2999)
Tapas and small plates in the heart of downtown Sarasota. Lots of fun dishes to share with friends and pass around the table. What’s that? Oh, you want the menu (I think I’m spoiling you now). HERE YOU GO!
#1 Osteria Southside (1812 S. Osprey Ave. (941) 361-3200)
Last AND first (not really as strange as it sounds). For the third month in a row, Rami Nehme and Michael Calore’s Osteria checks in at number 1! 🥇 They don’t have a formal menu online (and no actual website), but they do post their daily specials on their FB Page. You can check that out HERE. If you don’t have Facebook, why not just head on down to the restaurant and see for yourself!?
