Change is a good thing. And, in this case, it’s delicious!
Everything needs a little refresh from time to time. I mean, if you don’t have that then life can more than a little stale. Now, I’m not saying that you need to overhaul your existence just to keep things fresh. But, a little tweak here and there is good for the soul. In this particular case, it’s good for the taste buds too!
Spring and fall are typically the times in Sarasota when local restaurants add a few new possibilities to their menus. This spring is no exception to that tradition. Over at the Zota Beach Resort on Longboat Key, the Viento Kitchen + Bar is adding some soon to be favorites to an already strong and varied menu of upscale fare.
Grouper. It’s one of Florida’s signature dishes. It’s been styled into everything from tacos to wraps to bites for the kids. Viento takes a more classic approach to this Florida favorite. Their perfectly oven-roasted grouper is served with a caponata and curried cauliflower. All topped with a rich, saffron butter sauce. Now, that’s the perfect use for a piece of delicious fish!
Yep, if you guessed espresso rubbed ribeye, you would be correct. I’m not sure about you, but, if I’m eating a steak, it’s going to be a ribeye nine times out of ten. Don’t get me wrong, I love the other cuts too. But, the ribeye packs so much flavor into every bite that’s it’s VERY hard for me to pass up. This one is served with fingerling potatoes and grilled asparagus. A classic combo for sure! Now, all you have to do is convince your dining partner to order the grouper and you’ve got a “do-it-yourself” surf and turf!!
So, you’re saying, “hey, that grouper and ribeye look fantastic, but…”, I’ve got you covered, don’t worry. Let’s have a look at the entire new menu that’s now being served at Viento. Click on the menu below (OR HERE) for all of the dishes.
Obviously, this post is about the food. But, Viento has a wonderful, vacation-like atmosphere that makes those dishes that much more special. I don’t think you should take our word for it. A more, “personal” review is really what this situation calls for. Go ahead and experience it for yourself!
